The Construction Sales Rep will be expected to identify, develop, nurture and close construction sales contracts to satisfy the overall growth objectives of The Heartland Builders. This individual will work closely with organizational leadership, customers & project management to ensure the highest standards for quality and service delivery are provided.

Responsibilities:

Essential Sales Rep Functions:

  • Leads the sales process in the execution of strategies to increase all sales and company growth
  • Develops leads, nurtures opportunities and closes contracts for construction projects / services
  • Attends relevant events, trade shows etc… to represent the organization and identify opportunities
  • “Cold-calling” and “cold-knocking” relevant prospects (real estate agents, designers, etc.)
  • Oversee the relationships with current clients and existing external relationships
  • Ensure services comply with professional and company policy standards
  • Maintains strong networks and key association relationships
  • Weekly in-person team meeting with Heartland Leadership
  • Weekly in-person of virtual meeting with Head of Sales
  • Available via phone call for client or team (Monday-Saturday)

Essential Administrative Functions:

  • Oversees budget and forecasting for the sales accountabilities
  • Reports back to leadership on metrics and KPI’s to help improve productivity (weekly in-person or virtual)
  • Daily sales pipeline management in and CRM maintenance
  • Performs analyses, as requested, to support various business decisions
  • Reports sales data, company growth, budget and forecast to Leadership Team on a weekly basis (in-person)
  • Implements and/or improves policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Finance, Business Management, or Marketing (Preferred)
  • Construction industry experience (Required)
  • Sales, Business Development and Management experience (Required)
  • Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency to respond to and address the needs of the company, balanced with good instincts and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create key metrics upon which to measure productivity and profitability
  • Ability to create strategic sales plans
